Endowment Fund

As a young organization, the Heartland Festival Orchestra remains proud of the strong community support that keeps its budget in the black. To ensure the orchestra will last well into the future, the Board is proud to announce this opportunity to provide your long-term support – the Heartland Festival Orchestra Endowment Fund, which came about as the result of a significant leadership gift by two long-time supporters: Sharon and John Amdall.

The goal of the Endowment Fund is to provide a reliable source of funds every year for the HFO's operating budget, once the Fund balance reaches $100,000. No income or principal from the Fund shall be used for any other purpose than music performance, music education, or musical outreach. No income or principal from the Fund shall be used for any purpose that would be inconsistent with the HFO's standing as a charitable, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution.

Endowment Management

Separate Endowment Fund committees of the HFO Board of Directors have been established to work with the Endowment Fund manager, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

HFO Endowment Investment Committee members are: Jim Springer and Richard Sanders (advised by Michael Bork and Daren Epley of Morgan Stanley).

Contributions to the Endowment Fund are separate from donations to the annual operating budget. We appreciate and rely on your yearly donations to keep our annual budget balanced! Contributions to the endowment or the annual operating budget are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor for specific advice on the tax-deductibility of charitable contributions.

With deep gratitude to Sharon and John Amdall.
