Charity - Peoria Zoo

For your pre-concert and intermission enjoyment, the Peoria Zoo and Kidder Music will partner to present a “petting zoo” of instruments and animals – a chance to get up close to instruments both big and small and animals both furry and slimy.

Free bus rides, courtesy of Heartland Bank, will depart from 2Chez at 6:15 pm and Junction City at 6:30 pm. Call 309-339-3943 if you plan to ride the bus.

Pre-concert dinners will be offered in Peoria at 2Chez (309-691-2224) and in Washington at Denhart Baking Company (309-444-2200) and Basta O’Neills (309-444-5500).

what to wear?

One of the goals of the Heartland Festival Orchestra is to remove the "stuffy" stereotype of Classical music.

For every concert the orchestra members wear colorful shirts and black pants. No tuxedos here!

Thus suit jackets are not expected of men and formal dresses are not required of women. We describe the HFO's concert dress as classy casual.

Be comfortable and express yourself.

The best way to judge what to wear is to come to one of our concerts and see for yourself!
